Why Florian Wirtz Is Liverpool’s BIGGEST Problem

1. I think today wirtz did very well, forming a partnership with barcola and koumos, against LASK. As long as it continues and he continues to perform like this

2. So it appears that Trey Nyoni may be the key in midfield to get the best out of Wirtz (despite playing against farmers).

3. Will be a big waste 130 million waste of money and time

4. Gravenberch & Mac Allister as the double pivot. Szobozlai where Wirtz is. Thats a powerful skilled and workman like 3. Id play Gackpo, Ekitike, and Muñoz as the A team ahead. Cut our losses with Wirtz and let Isak prove his worth in europe

5. 'and that's how we found out the florian wirtz had a twin brother called fred'

6. He got a lot of stick for the City game but he was playing with Munoz, Barcola & Koumas after a three week international break, there wasn't much chemistry there. It was also noticeable that the press disappeared when he went off (Grav missing too, Koumas tiring.). I still think he comes good this season given more time with the new coach and new players.

7. He's not confident around this team with ekitike he'll thrive

8. Or maybe he just hates Liverpool.

9. We are Sancho levels of disaster with this kid

10. Yes..it's time😂

11. 16:05 "When you spend a hundred million pounds on a player…you can't really put them on a bench."

Solution: maybe, um, don't spend £100,000,000?
Or, if you absolutely must, maybe build the rest of your team and playing style to compliment his strengths instead of going off all higgledy-piggledy buying a nearly random assortment of exceptionally expensive players?

I have no idea why LFC wanted Isak. It feels like HE chose US, and he's never looked to me like a Liverpool player (I want another Bobby!). What happened to finding diamonds in the rough, like Sadio, Mo, Bobby or Diogo? Buy them BEFORE they cost a large fortune! I remember Coutinho, and the best thing he ever did for the club was get sold for an obscene amount of money. Loved the lad, but the team was better and more balanced without him (and with Ali, VVD and Fabs). Flo has always felt like Phil 2.0. Again, he seems a marvelous fellow, but what on earth were we doing buying a lightweight number 10 when we don't play with a number 10? Been rooting for him to succeed despite everything, but more and more this is looking like a failed experiment and a tremendous waste of time and money 🙁

12. 2 quadrillion Madagascan dollars for a spring board 😂😂😂😂😂

13. 'cos he doesn't wanna be here…. He realised pretty quick that this league isn't for him…

14. Pantheon mate. Loads of incredible stuff in Rome but how well preserved that place is with it still in use after 2000 years is incredible, and it's absolutely beautiful inside. When I went years ago there was a fella playing Dark Side of the Moon on guitar in the square outside, one of those moments in a place that sticks with you

15. It's all to late!! He just can't do it!! LFC should cut their losses ASAP and send him home to his farmers league!!! No British high quality ball knowing fan should be tortured by him!! And the experts!!? Nobody can risk that Jamie carragher gets a stroke!!

16. we just need to cut our losses if he ends this season on the same level. We can’t keep feeling like a man down in midfield every game because wirtz is just a hindrance. Poor defensively, terrible at pressing, and clearly can’t create or score goals either

17. You are the most credible football channel with data and not just notions and excuses. Well done. Wirtz is a passenger with no passion or guts. Not even worth 30mil.

18. @ACFC I really enjoy your videos and humor. But I felt the start of this video was unkind. I think it’s unkind to call that pass a “point of no return”. It was a horrible mistake in the moment. But haven’t we all made those? He’s clearly been struggling a lot these last few games. But does that really mean he can’t come back? Don’t you think the media is dragging him through the mud a little too much for clicks? We’ve gotta send good vibes to our fellow footballer man!!

19. We would have been better off given Elliott a chance and a run in the team.

20. Please don’t put all the blame on Wirtz, he isn’t the only problem. The other players are not exactly playing their parts. For me, football has 2 very basics, one is the one receives the ball has to work to pass to someone in the best position to receive it, the other is the players who doesn’t have the ball has to run to a best position to receive it. Currently, the team is not doing it well, and the manager has a big part to play.

21. I often have it physically taken off me by another man, but then again, I know where to advertise

22. I’ve tried to give him time but this city game is where he lost me. Hopefully he can get it back, but if not he needs a change of scenery.

23. Wirtz isn't a creative player
He needs someone to create for him, while he's playing behind the number 9

24. Bruno in wirtz position without an assist record to break would've done the same

25. I agree that his confidence is shot, but I think it's shot because he's ending up in position where the other forwards are basically on top of him so he ends up in blind alleys. Szobozlai in particular does this but they generally don't create enough space for him with their movements off the ball, and so he ends up getting stripped of possession because he has no options. Your examples feel right but the build up to get to them is that the team hasn't clicked in their system yet. I hope he gets a rest and some perspective then comes back and comes good, he's too good a player for it not to work at Liverpool.

26. Regarding Rome:
Best panino ever – this place called due cento gradi. Piazza del Risorgimento 3. In prati. I order the cavour.

Borghetto Flaminio Market for an authentic working day lunch experience

27. I honestly believe he doesn't want to play for Liverpool. I remember the very first game of this season. He ran out head down and gave the same lackluster performance.

28. Wirtz is playing like Odegarrd played last season

29. YOU ARE WRONG!!! Want to know why? It is because everyone in front of him is facing the goal and not in a position to have the ball played to them without it being a through ball. If GakNo and BallSak would play with backs to goal and open to the pass it would achieve 3 things – provide the space for Wirtz to shoot. Pass to one back to Wirtz and a run from the other, or open the space for Wirtz to drive into the Box GakNo and BallSak play lazy ball!

Just watch how Manchester sh!tty use Cherki. IT IS LAZY FOOTBALL!!! Watch old film of LFC with Bobby, Mane, Jota, Coutinho! That’s how it’s supposed to be done. LAZY FOOTBALL MAKES WIIRTZ INEFFECTIVE

30. What happened to the famous German Mentality? He's wet

31. Thank you Adam!! Thank you, thank , than you! Finally someone says it! Take him out of the team for a while and give him some space. And then when you introduce him back in, do it slowly. The kid has been carrying so much pressure for so long, and last year was awful for so many reasons. Managers keep pushing him to play week in and week out is not going to work. It is getting worse this way. Take the kid off the firing line from fans and socials for a while, but keep showing him trust by being there for him. When you are in a situation like this keep pushing is not going to work long term. Even if you score a goal here and there you will find yourself in this situation long term.
A reset is needed and Wirtz is a bloody good player. I really hope LFC will find a way to help him recover, in Germany with Jurgen I am sure this is going to happen and it will be such a shame for Wirtz to not make it in LFC.

32. I would agree it is a psychological problem, but not just with him. You might say he hasn't built confidence with the team, the attackers at least, and that's a big heavy mental weight on him when he gets into these situations where, as you pointed out he does well in while playing with other sides, but face plants here. (At a much much much lower level) I feel this in one men's team I play in where I do well defensively but in attack I can't sync up with some of the players like I can with other sides. And it's gone on long enough it seems like there's no turning that around.

33. Slot ruined him, along with many other things. Iraola has a long list of things to fix. number 1 is getting them to play together as a real team – fixing the press, playing with urgency. then the individual coaching will be built back up on a stronger foundation. trust the process

34. He is a donkey of the highest echelon. He excels when he has space and struggles badly when he's pressed or needs to act quickly.

35. best thing for wirtz he just for him to grow some flipping balls,he needs to be mad he needs hunger a point to prove

36. Watching him, it feels like he rushes because he's avoiding confrontation.

37. What I will say is that it would be a HUGE mistake to sell him. This highlights how important mental health is and the job/ responsibility Virgil has as captain to integrate him into the team and help build his confidence. Wirtz will breakthrough, sadly I think we need to bench him for now. YNWA means something. He’s working we can see it. He’s young, he’ll get there.

38. I think Wirtz just needs to go and have a messy night out at pop world or something. He's brilliant. Fingers crossed he finds his feet here.

39. We just don't have a cohesive attack.

40. Andy Robertson spoke on Wirtz recently during his interview on The Overlap with Gary Neville and his crew. He discussed how he felt bad for the 'big' new signings like Wirtz and Isak who joined Liverpool at a time where the team was essentially broken; in mourning of Diogo Jota. I think people forget that human aspect of football. Robertson went on further to say he thinks last season should essentially be written off and this season should be treated like it's their first. Considering how awful LFC were last season under Slot, where the only real bright spots were Szoboszlai and Ekitike, I personally think that's a fair take (to not put much weight behind last season's performances for individuals at the club).

Therefore, despite being in agreeance with the general public sentiment that Wirtz HAS TO BE MUCH BETTER given the expectations surrounding him, I think it's incredibly silly and harsh to make comments like, "He might've reached the point of no return at this football club." when we only find ourselves in October…
